MiraCosta College strives to be a model for equity and inclusion. The college is committed to providing opportunities for engagement both across the campus and within the communities the college serves. The college seeks to remove barriers to learning, participation, and success, with a focus on changing procedures and practices that disproportionately affect certain groups.
MiraCosta College Is A Proud Hispanic-Serving Institution
In 2013, MiraCosta College received the designation of Hispanic Serving Institution. This significant recognition acknowledges our institution's continuous efforts to support the academic performance and unique needs of Latinx students, many of whom are attending college for the first time or are first-generation. Approximately 38% of MiraCosta College's students and 26% of its staff are Latinx as of the fall of 2021.
The purpose of this website is to provide the MiraCosta College community with resources around inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA). It is a living and organic site that grows as our work around IDEA grows at the campus.
